About Melanotan-2

Melanotan-2 is a cyclic seven-residue analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. The cyclisation confers metabolic stability that the linear parent peptide lacks, and it binds MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R.

Research context

Studied for melanogenesis via MC1R, appetite signalling via MC4R, and comparative receptor affinity across melanocortin subtypes.

Reconstitution

This product is supplied as a lyophilised powder and must be reconstituted before use. Let the vial reach room temperature, wipe both septa with an alcohol pad, then add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the cake — peptides are shear sensitive.
