How the arithmetic works

Reconstitution is a dilution problem, and the only thing that changes when you add more or less water is how many syringe marks a given amount occupies. The peptide in the vial is fixed.

  1. Convert to micrograms. A 10 mg vial contains 10,000 mcg.
  2. Divide by the volume added. 10,000 mcg into 2 mL gives 5,000 mcg per mL.
  3. Divide by the syringe graduation. A U-100 syringe has 100 marks per mL, so each mark holds 50 mcg.
  4. Divide your target by that. 250 mcg ÷ 50 mcg per mark = 5 marks.

The practical takeaway: if your draws land on very small numbers of marks, add more water. Measuring 5 marks accurately is much easier than measuring 1.
